COVID-19 Update: one more death, 101 new cases

The Ministry of Health has announced that there has been yet another COVID-19 related death. 

The deceased is an elderly male with co-morbidities. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 51.

A further 101 samples have also tested positive for the virus. This brings today's total to 168 cases.

The 101 positive cases reported are results from samples taken during the period September 3 to September 11.

The country now has 2,176 active cases of the novel coronavirus.

The Ministry of Health has advised that 67 more people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Trinidad and Tobago. 

The 67 positive cases reported are results from samples taken between September 2 - 12. 

This brings the country’s total to 2,892; active cases are at 2,076. 

Of the active cases, 1,768 patients have been home isolated under monitoring of the respective County Medical Officer Health (CMOH) offices. These are mild cases. Moderate and severe cases are warded at hospital. 

There are 128 people at step-down facilities. 

At the Couva Hospital, there are five people in the Intensive Care Unit and four in the High Dependency Unit.
