Cpl charged with assault against Guardian Photographer Dareece Polo Created : 8 November 2017 T&T News Police Corporal Billy Ramsundar was tonight charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm against Guardian Photographer Kristian DeSilva. Cpl Ramsundar was also charged with malicious damage of a Canon camera valued US$1600. The charges arise from an alleged incident at Nazim Ave San Francique, Penal on September 15. De Silva was attempting to take photos of the compound of A&V Drilling in relation to a story involving the 'fake oil' scandal when he was allegedly beaten by two men. A&V Drilling was named as the company which defrauded Petrotrin of almost $100 million dollars for gas which was not supplied. Cpl Ramsundar is expected to appear before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate where the matter will be transferred to the Siparia Court. Charges were laid by Supt Ruthven Hodge of the Police Complaints Division.
