Cuban national held in Tobago raid

A Cuban national is now in the custody of the Immigration Division after being arrested by officers of the Tobago Division during an anti-crime exercise in the Crown Point district earlier this week.

According to a statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) issued Friday, the exercise, which was supervised by W/Sgt. Brenda Clarke-Sterling, a roadblock was conducted along Milford Road, Crown Point, between 9:30 pm to 10:45 pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2018.

Officers said they detained the man as they suspected him of being in the country illegally.

The 34-year-old of Havana, Cuba, was conveyed to the Crown Point Police Station and subsequently handed over to officers of the Immigration Division.
