Cunupia couple caught with 155g of marijuana

Police are once again reminding citizens to be cognizant of the laws as it relates to marijuana possession and marijuana use.

This was after a Cunupia couple was fined for having 155 grammes of marijuana at their home.

Under current laws, one person is only allowed to have up to 30 grammes of marijuana in thir possession.

Justin Rogers and Anita Mohammed were each fined $10,000 for being in breach of this law.

They were held on Saturday morning during a police operation.

The officers found the drugs, which were stashed throughout various rooms in the house.

Some of the marijuana, police said, had even been found in the refrigerator, and police were later told that it was there to make edible marijuana cookies.

Rogers and Mohammed appeared before Chaguanas Senior Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan where they both plead guilty to the offences and were fined.
