Cunupia man caught with gun, ammo and stolen cars on property
A 54-year-old man is currently in police custody after he was held with a loaded firearm, as well as several stolen vehicles.
The suspect, said to be from Ferry Lane, Cunupia, was held during a massive joint police exercise on Friday morning by officers of the Northern Division Special Investigations Unit, and the Cunupia CID, under the supervisions of Snr Sup Balram, Snr Sup Daniel, Inspector Robert Joseph, Inspector Ganga Singh, Cpl Ramsubag, and Cpl Kamal.
According to police reports, at about 11 a.m. on Friday, officers made their way to Ferry Lane where they executed a search warrant in the presence of the 54-year-old man.
A search of the compound was conducted and they seized a black Nissan Sentra which was completely scrapped, leaving only the shell and engine which was traced to be motor vehicle PDN3491 which was reported stolen in the Arouca district on Friday.
A Kia 2700 frame and parts identified to be that of TDR3486 which was reported stolen in the Arouca district on June 28.
One engine bearing the number #G4FGGU221137 which was traced to motor vehicle PDN5114 a black Hyundai Elantra which was reported stolen in the St Joseph district on May 25.
The officers also allegedly found and seized one fully loaded revolver inside of the house
Cunupia police are said to be continuing inquiries as it relates to the firearm, while the Special Investigations Unit are continuing inquiries as it relates to the stolen vehicles and parts.
