Updated: Curepe, Tunapuna water supply disruption extended

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers served by the Valsayn High Lift Station who are currently experiencing an interruption in their water supply that a new leak has emerged on the 12-inch diameter pipeline along Narine Trace, Curepe, forcing them to extend repairs.

WASA initially completed works on the aged pipeline at noon on Wednesday but when supply was restored, another leak emerged. 

The authority said these latest repairs are expected to be completed by 8 pm on Wednesday.

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers from Curepe to Tunapuna served by the Valsayn High Lift Station that their current supply disruption is due to a ruptured 12-inch diameter pipeline along Narine Trace, Curepe.

The pipeline ruptured on Monday and emergency repair works are expected to be completed by noon on Wednesday.

The affected areas include:

- From Riverside Road, Curepe, to El Dorado Road, Tunapuna, inclusive of the following:

  • Gordon Street
  • Santa Margarita
  • Mohammed Trace
  • Ragbir Hill
  • Warren Street
  • Warner Street
  • Mc Carthy Street
  • St John's Road
  • St Augustine north of the PBR
  • Tunapuna north of the PBR

Customers are further advised that it may take up to 12 hours for the pipe-borne water supply to normalize to some affected areas following the repairs.
