UPDATE: Pt Lisas Desal Plant shutdown postponed

The Water and Sewerage Company (WASA) has announced that the planned shutdown of the Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago (Desalcott)’s  Desalination Plant at Point Lisas has been postponed.

The Desalcott owned and operated desalination plant, provides 40 million gallons daily to WASA, which is used to supply the Point Lisas Industrial Estate, as well as augment the supply to areas in Central and South Trinidad.

The planned shutdown, which will facilitate maintenance work, was previously scheduled to take place from Tuesday 26 September to Tuesday 3 October 2017 and would have had a significant negative impact on WASA’s overall supply position in Trinidad.
