Customs, Inland Revenue staff praised for reporting to work
Created : 10 November 2017
Despite calls by Public Services Association (PSA) President Watson Duke for staff at the Customs and Excise Division and Inland Revenue Authority to stay home on Thursday and Friday in protest of the establishment of the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority (TTRA), most staff still showed up.
Earlier this week, Duke urged employees to view both days as 'holidays'.
A statement from the Finance Ministry said, however, that while some members of staff heeded the calls of the representing Trade Union to withhold their duties, the staff which reported for duty, ensured that the work of their respective Divisions continued and the public served.
The Ministry, therefore, thanked the staff for ensuring that business operations continued.
