D'Abadie man gunned down in broad daylight
A 33-year-old man is dead following a shooting incident in D’Abadie on Friday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Emmanuel De Verteuil of Mahabir Lane, D’Abadie.
He was said to the proprietor of Trappers Mini Mart.
According to police reports, at about 1:25 pm on Friday, police received reports of loud explosions at Mahabir Lane, D’Abadie.
When they arrived at the scene they found De Verteuil bleeding from multiple gunshot injuries.
The victim was conveyed to the Arima District Health Facility, where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 pm.
Crime scene officers visited the scene and two spent 9mm shells, two projectiles, and other evidential materials were recovered.
Police were told that De Verteuil was standing outside his business when he was approached by a man who pulled out a gun from his waist and shot the 33-year-old multiple times before escaping.
The suspect was described as dark in complexion, approximately 5’ 9” tall, slim build, with pimple scars on his face. He was wearing a black and white plaid long-sleeved shirt, long blue pants and a black hat.
The scene was visited by a team of officers led by ASP Birch, Insp Craig, Sgt Seecharan, Cpl Jones, PC Andrews, PC Sutherland, PC Mohammed and PC Callender, among several others.
