Watch: Deaf man shot in second round of fiery Laventille protests

One man had to be conveyed to hospital after he was shot in East, Port-of-Spain, as protests intensified in the Laventille area on Monday, following the police-involved shooting of Akile "Christmas" James.

A statement from the Police Service noted that a joint army and police presence were in the area to quell the second round of fiery protests at Picadilly, Oxford and Besson Streets around 2 pm.

This, "as protesters played a dangerous game of cat and mouse with police"

Baisden was said to be walking along Riley Street, East Dry River around 3:30 pm when the incident occurred.
