Deceased officer among 45 promoted to Inspector

Acting Commissioner of Police Stephen Williams presents Acting ACP Anthony Bucchan with a letter of appointment made posthumously for Inspector Kim Bucchan.

Forty-five police officers have been promoted to the rank of Inspector by Acting Police Commissioner Stephen Williams.

Among those being promoted was deceased, No. 14118 Acting Inspector Kim Bucchan who was posthumously presented with ‘bars’, which were received by her husband Acting ACP Anthony Bucchan - widower of the late officer.

Inspector Bucchan died in June 2016 from a sudden heart attack while on a course in the Bahamas.

During his address before the letters of appointment were presented to the officers, Commissioner Williams stated that the promotion exercise was a celebration; a recognition of a group of individuals, who have been serving the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service ‘very well’.

Commissioner Williams has also put the newly promoted officers on notice, advising that their experience and expertise will be immediately utilised to strengthen the various divisions.

The ceremony took place in the Solomon Mc Leod Lecture Theatre at the Police Administration Building, Port of Spain on Wednesday, June 14.

Also present were Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime and Support, Harold Phillip; Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, Erla Christopher; Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Anti-Crime, Irwin Hackshaw; Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Professional Standards Bureau, Anthony Bucchan and Vice President of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Social and Welfare Association, Superintendent Richard Corbett.
