Decomposed body found in Laventille

An autopsy has been ordered after the decomposed body of man was discovered in Laventille on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 62-year-old Dennis Charles of Beverly Hills, Laventille.

According to reports, around 7.12 am PC Kheerai and a party of officers from the Inter-Agency Task Force were on foot patrol in Beverly Hills, Laventille, when a 63-year-old man informed them that he discovered his brother's decomposed body at his apartment.

He told police he last saw Charles around 9 am on Monday.

Around 7 am on Wednesday, he went to his brother's home to visit him, however, several calls went unanswered.

The man along with assistance of neighbours entered the apartment and detected a foul odour once inside.

Charles's decomposed body was discovered in the corridor.

Officers visited the scene and cordoned for the area.

The body was removed and taken to the Forensics Science Centre.

Besson Street police are continuing enquiries.
