The body of a man was found on Tuesday evening in Felicity.
The body, police said, was badly decomposed, and as a result, it could not be determined as to whether there were marks of violence.
Despite this, the discovery is a homicide, LoopTT was told, as the legs of the deceased had been tied together, and the man's head and torso had been covered in what was suspected to be a bed sheet which was then tied around the deceased’s waist.
The discovery was made in a ravine off the Link Road, in Felicity.
The body was viewed by a district medical officer and ordered removed from the scene.
An autopsy is expected to take place at the Forensic Science Center in St James, once the deceased is identified.
More on this as it becomes available.
