Destra returns to Instagram with promise to be "badda"

Destra Garcia promises to be "badda" upon her return to the stage.

The Queen of Bacchanal took to Instagram on Sunday, following her surgery to assure fans she will be okay.

"Could have been worse...Im OK. Im on the road to recovery you guys! It's been a crazy 72 hrs. I want to thank everyone who kept me in their prayers, FANS, FRIENDS and COLLEAGUES during this time, all your love and messages of a speedy recovery, kept me strong. Thanks for reminding me how tough I was, when I needed to hear it the most," she wrote.

"It's only up from here tho. I'm stronger than a lion, yuh can't keep a good woman down LOL  well...not for long! I will be back on my feet in no time.... Because as you know "one must fall to rise again." Like a Phoenix out of the ashes, look out !!! ah BADDA when ah come back!!"

Thanks for reminding me how tough I was, when I needed to hear it the most. I was in so much pain and so afraid, but thanks to God, all the doctors, nurses and medical personnel, that took great care of me, from Bermuda ๐Ÿ”›CANADA๐Ÿ”›TRINIDAD and throughout all the pain and anguish, I made it through. A great Lesson learnt.....that sometimes your plan may not necessarily be Gods plan. ๐Ÿ˜ŒI left Trinidad to complete 8 shows by this coming Saturday. Turks and Caicos, Bermuda, 3 shows in Toronto, Tortolla and Grenada before coming back home. I only completed 1 ๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿค” It's only up from here tho๐Ÿค—I'm stronger than a lion, ๐ŸŽถyuh can't keep a good woman down ๐ŸŽถLOL ๐Ÿ˜‚ well...not for long! Garcia broke her ankle last Wednesday during a performance in Bermuda.

Her manager Brian Morris told Loop she fell off the stage due to bright lights in her eyes.

Andrew Holmes of 441 Productions, promoters of the event told The Royal Gazette that reports out of Trinidad stating that the stage fell through were erroneous.

The paper said Holmes was backed by a spokesman for the Corporation of Hamilton, which owns the Par-la-Ville venue, who pointed out that Sean Paul, the headline act, went ahead with the show after the songstress was taken to the hospital for treatment.
