'Diablo' is Casillero del Diablo's newest wine on the market
Thursday 24 October was an evening to remember for attendees of ‘Diablo’, the launch, at Club XO in Maraval.
‘Diablo’ is the newest, darkest member of the Casillero del Diablo family of Chilean red wines distributed by A.S. Brydens and Sons.
Guests of the launch were serenaded by violinist Andre J. Donawa and mystified at the hands of Kes The Illusionist, while the best of Casillero del Diablo was circulated throughout the night.
During a chat with Marketing Manager at Brydens-Premium Beverages Division, Christopher De Verteuil, he explained that ‘Diablo’ is a more premium line extension to the Casillero Del Diablo red blend. He said, ‘This dark red blend is Cabernet Sauvignon dominant with some Petite Sirah to balance out the taste profile and make it an exceptionally easy-to-drink wine.’
Adding to the discussion around the blend’s taste, Casillero del Diablo Brand Manager, Keisha Maraj, pointed out, ‘Normal Chilean wine is usually drier. However, with Diablo, the fermentation process is interrupted earlier, so it is a bit sweeter on the finish, definitely better on the Trini palate.’
Diablo promotes itself a seductive combination of grapes ripened to perfection, with hints of black fruit, mocha and creamy vanilla. It is especially recommended to have with red meats and spicy dishes.
Casillero del Diablo will be available at various supermarkets and speciality liquor stores with home delivery offered by Naughty Grape.
