Update: Suspect critical, doctor killed after kidnap attempt
Update January 15, 2020, 11.06 am:
One suspect is critical and two others in stable condition after a San Fernando doctor was killed in an accident during a kidnapping attempt.
According to police updates, 39-year-old Dr Rudradeva Sharma was killed in an accident which took place after he and Dr Prem Vijay Naidoo, 37, were kidnapped by three men around midnight.
Police said both doctors were attacked by the three men near Broadway, San Fernando around 11.58 pm Tuesday.
The attackers forced them into the back seat of a white Honda CRV and headed north along the Solomon Hochoy Highway.
According to reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle near Claxton Bay and the vehicle flipped several times.
Dr Sharma succumbed to his injuries at the scene while Dr Naidoo and the three suspects were taken to hospital for treatment.
Police said a firearm was recovered at the scene.

A doctor attached to the San Fernando General Hospital was killed following an alleged kidnap attempt on Wednesday morning.
According to preliminary police reports, the deceased is Dr Rudradeva Sharma, of Sunset Ridge, San Fernando.
Police were told that around 4.00 am Wednesday morning, two doctors, Dr Sharma and a Dr Naidu, were forced into a white SUV which then crashed near Macaulay, where Sharma is said to have succumbed to his injuries.
According to preliminary reports the doctors were said to have been near Broadway, San Fernando, when the incident occurred.
Police were told four occupants from the vehicle were receiving medical treatment at hospital.
Dr Sharma was the nephew of former Tourism Minister and former MP Chandresh Sharma.
