Doubles vendor killed in Central Trinidad

A 66-year-old doubles vendor was killed this morning.

The deceased was identified as Dharoop Jagessar.

Two persons, including a Guyanese national and a 52-year-old woman, were held on inquiries while attempting to flee the country.

The 21-year-old man and the woman were held for questioning by Airports Authority officers at the Piarco International Airport after the duo was observed acting suspiciously.

After being questioned, the woman told officials that the 21-year-old suspect chopped her husband at their doubles stall in Central last night.

When officers arrived at the location in Chase Village given to them, they found Jagessar dead.
