Dragon Gas Deal Signing will now take place in Venezuela after quake

The planned signing of the terms for the development of the across border gas deal for the Dragon field will now take place in Caracas, Venezuela on Saturday.

Communications Minister Stuart Young made the announcement while speaking during the weekly post cabinet media briefing on Wednesday afternoon.

The Minister explained that the request was made by Venezuela and acceded to due to concerns about the powerful earthquake which occurred on Tuesday.

He said the Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley will lead a delegation including the National Gas Company (NGC) to Caracas, Venezuela instead.

Young said members of the local media will also be taken to Caracas to witness the historic agreement.
