Electors can don any colour they wish as they head to the polls to exercise their franchise.
But, there should not be any party logo on any of the clothing worn by voters.
The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) cleared up the misconception on the election rule in a statement on Monday, following the circulation of a fake advisory about the wearing of certain colours on polling day.
"The electorate can wear any colour on poll day but persons will not be permitted into a polling station wearing the emblems or logos of political parties or with the words "VOTE FOR" on their articles of clothing."
The EBC made it clear that the document in circulation on social media is false.
