Riding high on the success of its Online Staff Letter Application System, the Education Ministry is moving swiftly to offer a similar service for other transactions done by teachers and members of the public.

The assurance came from Dr. Lovell Francis, Minister of State in the Education Ministry during his address on February 8, 2019, at the Presbyterian Primary Schools’ Board of Education Teachers Convention at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (SAPA), San Fernando.

Francis said the success experienced has led to other ideas.

“We are going to automate all transfers; teachers and students we are going to automate all paperwork. The idea of coming to the Ministry to do these mundane things which used to take days or weeks will now be cut down to hours.

Think about the teaching time that would have been lost, think of the time for productivity that would no longer be squandered. Think of the frightening word called efficiency,” he said.

He assured the hundreds of teachers and stakeholders gathered that the Ministry has gone through a significant transformation over the past few years. He said officials at the Education Ministry continue to work tirelessly to improve every aspect of the education system.

Among those in attendance were San Fernando Mayor Junia Regrello, and Moderator of the Synod of the Presbyterian Church of Trinidad and Tobago, Reverend Annabell Lalla - Ramkelawan.
