Eight held after attempted theft of construction equipment

Police officers have detained eight suspects in connection with the theft of construction material at the Citrus' Growers' Association in Laventille. 

According to an update from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), officers were on patrol around 5:00 pm on October 27, 2018 when they received information about a burglary in progress. 

The officers immediately requested assistance and several other IATF units responded to the scene of the incident.

When they arrived at the location, officers observed a group of men loading construction materials onto three trucks.

Upon seeing the officers, the men ran off.

Through a coordinated effort, they were able to apprehend eight suspects, all of the Morvant and Laventille districts.

Investigations are ongoing.
