Elderly Debe man tied up, beaten during robbery

Police are searching for three men who assaulted and tied up a 68-year-old man during a home invasion in Debe.

The incident took place around 7:00 am on Wednesday.

The victim was alone at his home when three men, armed with firearms, stormed their way into the victim’s home.

The men, who had bandannas over their faces, announced a hold-up, and then proceeded to assault the pensioner.

They then tied him up as they ransacked his home, looking for cash and valuables.

Eventually, the men fled the scene, escaping in a silver coloured car.

The victim managed to untie himself and notified the police.

The 68-year-old, LoopTT was told, did not suffer any life-threatening injuries during his assault.

Officers from the Barrackpore police station are continuing inquiries.
