The Congress of the People (COP) has thrown their hat in the ring for the August 10 General Election.

With ten days to go before nomination day on July 17, the COP has announced four candidates set to go up against the two major parties.

Political Leader, Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan will contest St Augustine. She’s up against the United National Congress’ Kadijah Ameen and the Peoples National Movement’s Renuka Sagramsingh-Sooklal.

Lonsdale Williams (COP) will face the incumbent Colm Imbert for Diego Martin North East (PNM) and the UNC’s Eli Zakour.

In Laventille West, the COP is sending Kurt Sinnette to face off with the PNM’s Fitzgerald Hinds. The UNC is hoping to throw a wrench in with Rodney Stowe.

The COP’s final offering, Anthony De Four, is contesting Port of Spain North/St Ann’s West. He’s squaring off with the PNM’s Stuart Young and the UNC’s Darren Garner.
