Employees' payroll stolen at gunpoint

Over $31,000 was stolen at gunpoint from a businessman in Greenvale Park on Friday morning.

The victim, a 44-year-old man from Bon Air, Arouca, told police that he was seated in a vehicle along Levi Avenue, Greenvale, around 11.30 am on Friday.

At the time, he had in his possession a brown bag which contained $31,160 which represented payroll for his employees at a construction site.

The victim told police that he was approached by a man of African descent, approximately 6’5”, slim built, dark complexion, wearing long blue pants and grey t-shirt with a hat approached him.

The man pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded the cash.

The victim became fearful for his life complied with the instructions.

The suspect then escaped in a waiting B-15.
