Energy Minister remembers 'true pioneer' Jones

“Malcolm Jones was a true pioneer whose dedication and commitment to the development of the domestic energy sector was unquestionable.”

In expressing condolences to the Jones family, Energy Minister Franklin Khan chose to remember the former Executive Chairman of Petrotrin for his long and distinguished career in the local energy sector.

Khan noted that in Jones’ career which spanned over forty years, he served with distinction at the executive level in several state enterprises including his last tenure in 2009 as the Executive Chairman at Petrotrin.

“He was a member of a group of visionaries who transformed Trinidad and Tobago’s energy sector into a world class location and laid the foundation for the country’s economic development.”

“As a country, we are indebted to pioneers like Mr. Malcolm Jones whose contributions to Trinidad and Tobago helped us gain international recognition as an important energy province and favoured site for energy sector investment.”

Khan ended by recognising the invaluable contribution Jones made to the country.
