Exodus heading to court in fight to change song

The courts will decide what song Exodus Steel Orchestra will play in the Panorama finals.

Band manager Ainsworth Mohammed told Loop that they will be heading to court for a determination after Pan Trinbago and the Panorama Committee decided that the band cannot change its song selection at this juncture.

Exodus announced on Tuesday that it will be changing its original selection, Rag Storm to Kes the Band’s Savannah Grass. Arranger Pelham Goddard said Rag Storm was not yielding the results they expected.

Mohammed said the band will continue to rehearse Savannah Grass while their attorneys have begun action on the matter.

He said Exodus was not obligated to ask Pan Trinbago’s permission to change the song.

“All we had to do was advise them, which we did,” he said.
