Fables: The Soucouyant

She’s known as an old woman who patiently waits for the sun to go down. She spends her days eyeing potential targets; usually other women, whose blood she can feed on.

At night, she sheds her skin, puts it into her mortar and takes on her true form: a ball of fire.

The soucouyant’s presence is only known when the sun returns and dark marks are seen on the skin of her target.

In the minds of many, she still lives in rural Trinidad and Tobago, sitting in wait for her next victim.
