Facebook 'friend' helps rob, kidnap man
A man escaped with his life after a female he got acquainted with via Facebook, helped orchestrate his kidnapping and robbery.
On January 25, 2020, the victim, went to Monte Grande, Tunapuna where he had agreed to meet the female.
The woman entered his car and asked him to reverse and park into a side street.
The victim complied and was approached by three men, one armed with a firearm, who announced a robbery.
He was placed in the back seat and subsequently taken to Republic Bank’s UWI branch where he was forced to give his PIN number to the female and another man. An undisclosed amount of cash was withdrawn.
The victim was later dropped off at Bamboo #2, Valsayn while the robbers sped off with his car.
A report was made and PC Seetaram conducted enquires.
Meanwhile, a party of officers proceeded to Nelson Street, Port-of-Spain and arrested 40-year-old Kevin Clarke.
He was subsequently charged for robbery with violence, kidnapping and the unauthorized use of ATM bank cards.
