A 31-year-old man is expected to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate on Monday, after he along with two other men attempted to rob persons at a Chinese supermarket in Caroni last Tuesday, while dressed in what appeared to be police tactical uniforms.

Police say the suspect was held last week Wednesday, less than a day after the incident took place, during another robbery – this time in Barataria.

Officers of the North Eastern Division received a report of a robbery in the district and upon responding they held the suspect as he was attempting to leave with a quantity of cash.

He was detained, and while being questioned, it was realized he was the man wanted in connection with the attempted robbery.

Officals from the Central Division were notified, and the suspect was questioned further.

He is said to be aiding police with their inquiries into the identities and whereabouts of the two other suspects in that incident.
