Family, friends say goodbye to murdered grandmother
Even as investigations continue into the murder of 64-year-old Chandaye “Meila” Lalloo, relatives and loved ones paid their final respects to their grandmother on Thursday.
Relatives bade farewell during a funeral service at the family’s home along King Street, Gasparillo.
The service was officiated by Pastor Kenneth Mahabir, who gave words of support to the grieving relatives and friends.
Lalloo’s body was then cremated at the Shore of Peace, Mosquito Creek, South Oropouche.
Police are yet to make any arrests in this case.
Lalloo’s body was found on Sunday morning by relatives who went to her home to check on her.
They found her body inside the house - she had been stabbed multiple times.
Lalloo was last seen alive on Saturday evening when she went to a nearby “play whe” booth.
