Father in court after fight at gas station
A 41-year-old father of one is before the courts on charges of assaulting a taxi-driver.
Alvin Dhoray appeared before Senior Magistrate Cherril-Anne Anotine in the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court.
Dhoray was represented in his first court appearance by attorney Vade Trebouhansingh, who held for attorney Gobin Harrypersad in his absence.
PC Meah of the Mon Repos Police Station was the complainant (charging officer) in this matter.
The charge stems from a fight between Dhoray and taxi-driver Azard Mohammed on Saturday at a gas station in Mon Repos.
Police were told that Dhoray had assaulted Mohammed with the intent to rob him.
After a report was made, the 41-year-old was arrested.
In his first court appearance, the court was told that Dhoray had no previous convictions, and Mohammed had not suffered injuries serious enough to be hospitalised.
After further submissions, Dhoray was granted bail at $70,000 bail.
The matter was the adjourned to October 17.
