Fete Fast Five: Tailgate Carnival
Wild Goose is taking their flagship summer event, Tailgate, and bringing it to Carnival.
Tailgate's concept follows that which has been a part of American culture. Tailgating is a pre-game gathering where people eat, drink and lime before heading into a huge sporting event, typically an NFL game.
Co-director of Wild Goose, Joel Auguste sat down with us in studio where he spoke further on Tailgate.
"We basically mimicked the idea of the American Tailgate minus the sporting event and added the Trinidad and Tobago partying atmosphere," he said. "When we first introduced this event in the summer of 2015, the response was amazing and it has grown steadily ever since."
While the event is a few years old, this is their first entrance into the Carnival arena.
Set for Tuesday, February 26 at the Queens Park Savannah Paddock, the event will take patrons on a "soca road trip" complete with different "stops" or categories of soca including the Groovy Soca Session, the Soca Winery, the Power Hour, and a Soca Throwback.
Although the Wild Goose team remained mum on the artist line up, patrons can look forward to an all-star DJ cast including DJ Charlotte, Selector Kerry and Poison, as well as Private Ryan and Patrick The Hypeman.
