Fight among friends leaves one hospitalised

One man is hospitalised following a stabbing incident in San Fernando.

The victim has been identified as Nicholas Edwards, 30, from Rousillac.

According to police, around 8.30 pm on Friday, Edwards was in a vehicle with two other friends at Cross Crossing, near Canton Palace, when the trio got into a fight.

One of the occupants of the car pulled out a knife and attacked his two other friends, injuring Edwards, and a 33-year-old fisherman who was also in the car at the time.

During the attack, Edwards managed to get a hold of the knife, and defended himself.

When police arrived on the scene, all three men were said to be nursing injuries.

They were all taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where they were treated.

Edwards, however, suffered more serious injuries and remains warded.

The other two men have since been discharged and are said to be aiding police with inquiries.
