Fight between friends ends in death

A fight between two friends in Longdenville on Saturday afternoon has led to the death of 28-year-old Clint Edwards.

Edwards, of Gopaul Avenue, Longdenville, was fatally wounded during the confrontation.

The other man, who resides along Lamont Street, Longdenville, is currently in police custody aiding with inquiries.

Police said around 4.00 pm on Saturday, the two men were seen quarrelling along Lamont Street.

They then attacked each other, during which a knife was seen being used by both men.

Edwards, police said, was stabbed to his neck and upper body while the other man also suffered injuries about his body.

Following the confrontation, neighbours raised an alarm and Edwards was rushed to the Chaguanas District Health Facility.

However, he died while undergoing treatment.

The suspect, who surrendered himself to police following the incident, did not sustain any “serious injuries” police said.

He is currently aiding police with their inquiries.
