Fire breaks out at T&TEC POS substation, investigation launched

Parts of Port-of-Spain were without power for roughly one hour on Tuesday, after a fire broke out at a T&TEC substation located at Park and Flament Streets.

The incident occurred around 11 am and saw parts of Park and Duke streets without electricity in addition to parts of Independence Square, Ariapita Avenue, Victoria Avenue and Woodford Square.

T&TEC PRO Annabelle Brasnell confirmed that an investigation was launched into the incident. 

"The impact was very small in terms of the area, some parts of downtown pos were affected but as I said, the supply came back pretty quickly. We are still investigating the cause of the fire but right now customers are not seeing any of impact as a result of the incident".
