Fire destroys house in Cocoyea

Police are investigating a report involving a two-storey building which burned to the ground in Cocoyea on Tuesday night.

LoopTT was told that the fire destroyed the wooden home a short distance away from the Mon Repos Fire Station.

Appliances from the fire station, along with the Princes Town Fire Station, responded and were able to contain the blaze before it spread to nearby structures.

However, some neighbours reportedly sustained damages.

A cause of the fire has yet to be established. Police suspect it may have been caused as a result of faulty wiring.

Investigations are ongoing.
