Fire officer detained for questioning over missing money

A 42-year-old fire officer with 17 years of service is currently in police custody on inquiries of larceny.

The suspect was held yesterday evening during a police exercise by officers of the Port of Spain CID.

Loop News was told that officers received intelligence that money from the Wrightson Road Headquarters had not been accounted for and a report was made to the police.

As a result, an operation, supervised by W-Insp Forde-Jack and Sgt Grant, was launched.

The fire officer was detained for questioning and is being held at the Port of Spain CID.

PC McMillan is continuing inquiries.
