Fire officials battle blaze in San Fernando

Fire officers rushed to the scene of a fire on Friday morning in San Fernando which affected two homes.

While up to 7:00 information was still coming in, LoopTT was told that at about 4.17 am Friday, fire officers received information that a house was on fire along Rushworth Street, San Fernando.

When officers arrived, they observed one building was fully ablaze and that the fire had spread to the roof of a nearby two-storey structure.

Officers got to work and they were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further.

From initial information at least six persons – including an 85-year-old man – have been affected by the blaze.

However, no casualties were reported.

Fire officers are still on location trying to determine a cause for the fire.

There are no official estimates of damages yet.

More on this as it becomes available.
