Firearm found and seized in Piparo

Three men are currently in police custody after they were held with three firearms and face masks in Piparo this morning.

According to reports, around 7:30am today, a team of officers from Princes Town Police Station, under the supervision of Sgt Ramlogan, received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked along Dindial Road, Piparo.

Officers responded to the report, and upon nearing the Piparo Empowerment Centre, they observed a vehicle with four men matching the description given to them.

The officers approached the car and informed the occupants that they had received a complaint and asked all four men to exit the vehicle and to comply with instructions given.

However, as the lawmen began searching a bag in the car, one of the four suspects began to run.

The police gave chase, and during the pursuit, the suspect was shot at after he failed to stop.

He escaped.

The three remaining suspects were secured, and the officers continued to search the bag.

Inside the bag, the lawmen allegedly found three weapons, as well as face masks.

As a result of the find, the three men, said to be between the ages of 25 and 55, were detained.
