Firearm found in woman's blouse

Three persons, including a 35-year-old woman, are currently in police custody, after they were found with a loaded firearm.

The discovery was said to have been made Saturday morning at a restaurant/bar along the Malabar Extension Road, Malabar.

According to police reports, officers of the Malabar Police Station received information which led them to the business place where they conducted a search of three perosns.

The firearm said to be a Tauras 9mm pistol loaded with 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition, was said to have been found hidden inside the blouse of the woman.

As a result, she was detained.

Two other persons, a 34-year-old man from La Horquetta, as well as a 29-year-old man from Arima, were also arrested in connection with the find.

They were all expected to be questioned Sunday, following which they will be placed on identification parades.

The firearm and ammunition are also expected to be sent for ballistic testing to determine if it can be linked to any reports of crimes in the district.
