Fisherman appears in court charged with murder of teen
A Marabella man has appeared before the Tunapuna Magistrates’ Court in court charged with the murder of 18-year-old Keewan Marine which took place on February 19th.
Antonio Mendoza aka ‘Kimba Son’, an 18-year-old fisherman of Bayshore West, Marabella, who is also charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, appeared before Senior Magistrate Debra Quintyne in the Tunapuna 1st Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The matter was postponed to September 4th and transferred to the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court.
Eighteen-year-old Marine also of Bayshore West, Marabella was sitting on the steps in front of his home, when he was approached by four men, three of whom were armed with guns.
The men proceeded to fire several shots at the victim, who died at the scene.
The suspects then fled the scene on foot.
Mendoza was arrested and charged by WPC Rishma Bickram, of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 3, following advice received from the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Joan Honore Paul on August 21st.
