Five charged with 63 sexual offences against minors all denied bail

Five men from Central Trinidad, who were arrested by officers of the Child Protection Unit (CPU) in connection with a total of 63 sexual offences against minors, have all been denied bail.

The men appeared before Chaguanas Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan on Monday to answer the charges.

Further investigations conducted by the CPU revealed that one of accused has also been charged for a similar offense in the United States.

The men were arrested by officers during an anti-crime exercise on Friday.

During the exercise, five suspects, ages 24 to 70, were arrested for various offences against minors including sexual touching and sexual penetration.
