Flash flooding, landslides, fallen trees reported after heavy rainfall

Flooding has been reported in several areas across Trinidad due to heavy rainfall on Saturday.

There are reports of flash flooding in Barrackpore.


The San Juan/ Laventille Regional Corporation's Disaster Management Unit has also responded to a fallen tree along Cipriani Avenue, 2nd Caledonia Road, Morvant. Saw operators and a road team have been despatched to respond to fallen tree and landslide on the roadway at Farrell Hill.


Meanwhile, the Disaster Management Unit of the Arima Borough Corporation has responded to a collapsed house in Calvary.


And, the Diego Martin Regional Corporation's Disaster Management Unit, together with the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service, is presently treating with a fallen tree and landslide at LP #71 La Horquette Valley Road, Glencoe.


An adverse weather alert is currently in effect.

The Met Office has advised that the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) has become active, resulting in occasional heavy showers and thunderstorm activity in several areas in both Trinidad and Tobago.
