Flavorite back on shelves soon

Contrary to the rumours, Flavorite Foods Limited is not closing down.

Speaking to Loop, Stefan Monteil, CEO of the local ice cream brand, debunked rumours that the company had closed.

Over the last couple months, customers have been complaining about the unavailability of their favourite Flavorite ice creams in supermarkets across the country.

Monteil said the foreign exchange shortage affected their operations as it made it difficult to purchase the necessary raw supplies.

He said raw materials were bought recently and the factory will be back to full production capacity.

The forex issues contributed to the loss of a Flavorite customer.

Bico, Barbados’ largest ice cream supplier parted ways with Flavorite and is looking for alternative production facilities.

Flavorite was contracted to manufacture some of its brands after BICO’s manufacturing plant in Barbados was destroyed by fire in August 2009
