Flood alert, rough seas bulletin discontinued
As severe weather conditions experienced over the past few days in Trinidad and Tobago continue to improve, a Riverine Flood Alert and Rough Seas Bulletin issued for both islands have been discontinued.
Water levels in the nation’s major rivers have begun receding and are expected to steadily recede as significant rainfall is not expected over the next few days.
Meanwhile, agitated sea conditions in open waters around Trinidad and Tobago have improved. The strong winds causing rough sea conditions have decreased, with a corresponding decrease in wave heights.
Small craft operators, sea bathers and all other marine interests are still advised to exercise caution in any sea related activities.
The Meteorological Service (Met Office) says it will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and will inform the public in a timely manner, of any weather related event which may adversely affect the islands.
