Four persons were due to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate on Monday on charges of larceny and sacrilege, after allegedly stealing items from a Hindu temple.
The four persons – a 20-year-old woman and her 23-year-old husband, as well as a 27-year-old man and his 23-year-old wife – were all arrested last week as police completed their investigations into a robbery at the Hindu temple at New Picton Settlement, Diamond Village.
The offence is alleged to have taken place between June 15 and June 21.
According to police reports, officials, on returning to the temple on June 21, observed that five speaker boxes, five tripods, two fans and over $3,000 were missing.
A team of officers, including Cpl Khan, PC Rampersad, and PC Andre, among several others, conducted inquiries.
Several of the stolen items were reportedly recovered.
