Four injured in ambulance crash

At least four persons were said to have been injured following a motor vehicular accident along the Priority Bus Route yesterday in Arouca.

According to reports, the accident occurred at about 1:20 pm on Tuesday.

An ambulance was said to have been travelling in a westerly direction when, upon reaching the traffic lights at Bon Air, Arouca, it came into contact with a black Honda Civic motor vehicle which was proceeding in a southerly direction.

At the time of impact, the ambulance was transporting an ill person to the Arima District Hospital.

The police and emergency health services were notified and the occupants of both vehicles were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Investigations are ongoing to determine who was in the wrong.

In a separate incident a woman was rescued after a car overturned in Tobago.
