Four men charged with stealing Petrotrin equipment

Four Point Fortin men are expected to appear before a Siparia Magistrate on Friday jointly charged with larceny of a quantity of equipment from Petrotrin, Santa Flora.

Sixty-four-year-old Bassant Bhola, 39-year-old Anderson Hill, 30-year-old Amit Rajkumar and 23-year-old Creston Sirju were arrested by Petrotrin Estate officers on Wednesday.

A production supervisor employed with Petrotrin told the company’s Estate Police officers that he observed a quantity of equipment in an open area at Grand Ravine, Santa Flora, around 2:00pm on Monday.

Upon returning around 5:00pm on Wednesday, he observed four men loading the equipment valued at $15,000 onto a truck.

Estate Constables were immediately contacted and the four suspects were subsequently detained in connection with the incident.

The accused were charged by Woman Estate Constable Gurda Joseph of the Petrotrin Police, Santa Flora.
