Four Venez detained, four Trinis arrested, stolen car recovered

Four female Venezuelan nationals were detained and four locals were arrested during anti-crime exercises in the Southern Division between the hours of 8 am and 11:30 pm on Wednesday.

The anti-crime exercises which were conducted in the Barrackpore, Gasparillo, Marabella, Mon Repos, Moruga, Princes Town, San Fernando, St Margaret’s, St Mary’s, Ste Madeline and Tablelands districts.

According to reports, the eight were held after police recovered a grey Toyota Fielder in the San Fernando District which was previously reported stolen.

The four T&T nationals were subsequently arrested for various offences which included larceny of a motor car vehicle and an outstanding warrant.

During exercises, 40 Fixed Penalty Notices were issued of which 24 were for breach of the speed limit and 179 Field Interviews were conducted.

The exercises were coordinated by Snr Supt Mohammed, ASP Ramdeen and Inspector Gajadhar.
