Four-year-old among family of five homeless after Cedros fire
A family of five is now homeless after a fire destroyed their home at St Marie Road, Cedros on Monday.
35-year-old Natasha Paul said her family went to her mother's house a short distance away when after 10 minutes she received a phone call at around 4 pm, saying her house was on fire.
The woman lived at the home with her common-law-husband Johnny Lallooo and their three children ages 14, 11 and 4.
The family is currently staying at a neighbour's house.
Paul is appealing to the Government to assist the family in finding a place to live as she said staying with her neighbour was only temporary accommodation.
Councillor for the area, Shankar Teelucksingh, said they have sent the names of the victims as well as their information to the relevant agencies for urgent intervention and assistance.
"Our prayers are with them and the council will ensure they are safe and secure and additional emergency support is provided throughout the night and tomorrow."
Anyone willing to assist can contact the family at 274-2476 or 296-8288.
